Overall Score: ☆☆☆
This was a pretty good movie
overall. Even though it was pretty good, this movie was a little odd to me. It
touched on the Gemini & Apollo missions, the astronauts, as
well as their families, but the soul focus of the film was about Neil
Armstrong. This movie has unexpectedly been the focus of a lot of critics, like
Buzz Aldrin, who was with Armstrong during the
first lunar landing, saying that the film made Armstrong out to be a “liberal progressive”. Aldrin also added, “That’s not the Neil Armstrong I knew.” Another criticism about the movie was that they never showed the
planting of the American flag, even though it did show the flag up later on.
I do have to say that I
did learn some things about those times I didn’t know before, like Neil
Armstrong was Not military. So, true or false, real or Hollywood, if you like “historical” type movies, you’ll like
this one. With that being said, we will probably not get this movie when it
comes out on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K.
