Mary Poppins Returns

Brief Summary: Emily Blunt as the practically-perfect nanny
with unique magical skills who can turn any task into an unforgettable,
fantastic adventure; Lin-Manuel Miranda as her friend Jack, an optimistic
street lamplighter who helps bring light and life to the streets of London; Ben
Whishaw as Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer as Jane Banks; and Julie Walters as
the Banks housekeeper Ellen; with Colin Firth as Fidelity Fiduciary Banks
William Weatherall Wilkins; and Meryl Streep as Mary's eccentric cousin, Topsy.
The film also introduces three new Banks children played by Pixie Davies,
Nathanael Saleh and newcomer Joel Dawson. Angela Lansbury appears as the
Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the PL Travers books and Dick Van Dyke
is Mr. Dawes Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firths character.

This was a pretty good
movie overall. I’m going to start off by saying that I don’t like musical type
movies, but I’ve seen the original 1964 Mary Poppins movie, & I wanted to
see if it was just as good. Well, I have to say, if you liked the original
movie, you’ll like this one. Of course, this movie takes place many years later
(sequel) to the original movie. With all new songs & adventures. We’ll probably not be getting this movie when
it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K. You never know though.

Brief Summary: Thousands of years after civilization was
destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living
has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon
smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower
Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival
after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two
opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance

This was a pretty good
movie overall. This movie is based on a four book series. Mortal Engines,
Predator’s Gold, Infernal Devices, & A Darken Plain. So, depending on how
well this movie does in the box office, we could see more of these movies in
the future. I’m still not sure if we’ll be getting this movie when it comes out
on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K. You never know though.
