Shazam! Review

Single Review

Shazam!, Rated PG-13.

Starring: Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans

Brief Summary: We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. (source: iTunes)

Again, this is how I'm going to review this movie. I will be basing it on a 5-star (☆) system on these 8 categories. Action, Suspense, Comedy, Drama, Scare Factor, Romance, Adult Content, & Overall Score.

So, let's get started...

Action: ☆☆☆
There was some of action in this movie.

Suspense:
There was no suspense in this movie.

Comedy: ☆☆☆
There was some comedy in this movie.

Drama: ☆☆

There was a little drama in this movie.

Scare Factor:
There is no scary moments in this movie.

Romance:
There was no romance in this movie.

Adult Content: ☆☆☆

There was some adult content in this movie. Mostly language & a little gore. There was no nudity in this movie.

Overall Score: ☆☆☆

Overall, this was a pretty good movie. The only thing I didn’t like about this movie was that Shazam (a.k.a. Captain Marvel) acted too much like a kid. I know that he really is a kid when he’s not Captain Marvel, I just wish he acted more like an adult when he did change. I guess I’m too used to the old 1970’s TV series back when I was a kid. With that being said, I’m not sure if we’ll still be getting this movie when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K. You never know though.

End Credits: There were 2 clips in this movie. One in & after the credits.
