Brief Summary: As a young student, J.R.R. Tolkien finds love, friendship and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts. Their brotherhood soon strengthens as Tolkien weathers the storm of a tumultuous courtship with Edith Bratt and the outbreak of World War I. Again, this is how I'm going to review this movie. I will be basing it on a 5-star (☆) system on these 8 categories. Action, Suspense, Comedy, Drama, Scare Factor, Romance, Adult Content, & Overall Score.

So, let's get started...

There was a little action in this movie.

Suspense: ☆
There was very little suspense in this movie.

Comedy: ☆
There was very little comedy in this movie.

Drama: ☆☆☆

There was some drama in this movie.

Scare Factor:
There is no scary scenes in this movie.

Romance: ☆☆☆
There was some romance in this movie.

Adult Content: ☆
There was very little adult content in this movie, if any. If there was any, it was all language. No nudity.  

Overall Score: ☆☆☆

This was a pretty good movie overall. I wanted to see how Tolkien got his ideas for the wonderful stories he wrote, The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings, & this movie does just that. I just didn’t realize that the stories were brewing in his head all his life, as his life unfolded. We’ll probably not be getting this movie when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K.

Long Shot

Starring: Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron, Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Ravi Patel, Bob Odenkirk, Alexander Skarsgård

Brief Summary: When Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) reunites with his first crush, one of the most influential women in the world, Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron), he charms her with his self-deprecating humor and his memories of her youthful idealism. There was a little drama in this movie.

There are no scary scenes in this movie.

There was a little romance in this movie.

There was a ton of adult content in this movie. Both in language & sexual content.

 
Overall Score: ☆☆

This was an ok movie overall. To be honest, I’m not really a Seth Rogen fan. Even though this movie had funny parts in it, it probably could have been done in a cleaner fashion, if you know what I mean. We will not be getting this movie when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray & 4K.
